Blockheads Development & Marketing Builds Big Things in the Bitwise Ecosystem

Blockheads Development & Marketing, a blockchain and marketing company, originally from Chicago, Illnois, relocated to Fresno in September 2017. Founder, Jennifer Kim worked from home for six months before deciding to check out the Bitwise Hive at 2600 Ventura, Suite 116 Fresno, Calif.

“I wanted to expand and needed a place for my growing team,” said Jennifer. “The Bitwise Hive was the perfect mix of tech-enabled office space and innovative, collaborative community that I was looking for. Coming from a big city to Fresno, I was amazed at how quickly my company was accepted and we felt part of this larger company.”

With clients all over the world, from Asia to North America, Blockheads Development & Marketing is focused on changing how websites, mobile apps and products are created by using blockchain to increase security and transparency.

“My business can be a little tricky to explain but the people in the Bitwise Hive are so passionate about tech, it makes me feel like I belong,” said Jennifer. “I feel connected to, not only the tech community here in Bitwise, but to the larger startup ecosystem that is taking shape in Fresno.”

Jennifer’s story is becoming more common and a recent survey produced by Startup Genome, found that Fresno met many of the requirements for early-stage startup ecosystem development. The survey showed that Fresno is extremely welcoming to outsiders and that’s why a third of entrepreneurs in Fresno have moved here from other cities.

The survey also showed that Fresno had a higher than global average collision score which means founders build relationship and strong sense of community. These are the kinds of collisions that Bitwise initiates within its buildings and Blockheads Development & Marketing is a perfect example of how these connections build businesses. These professional relationships are not only benefiting individual companies but reshaping the Central Valley’s tech economy as a whole.
