Double Time Fitness, an athletic club dedicated to changing lives through health education and fitness, has fully embraced the downtown community. As part of its effort to attract new members with its unique inclusive approach to exercise, Double Time Fitness is hosting FitWise Fresno on Saturday, December 1 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Bitwise South Stadium. “FitWise Fresno 2018 is a fitness mixer for everyone where people can get educated on all things fitness from industry professionals in and around the Central Valley,” said Chris Fernando, Director, Double Time Fitness. “There will be exciting speakers in different fitness professions such as; Bodybuilding, Crossfit, Yoga, Pilates, MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Power Lifting and endurance racers. Food trucks and vendors will be on site and there will be special performances by local artists. This is a great way to learn about all the fitness options available in Valley in an ego free environment.” Based just below the lobby of the Bitwise South Stadium building, Double Time Fitness is creating a community focused on health and wellness. The club welcomes all levels of fitness, offers personal training sessions and comes up with customized plans for each member. The new management of Double Time Fitness has made intentional steps to ensure that all members, regardless of gender or ability, feel welcome. “As a veteran and working with veterans in a fitness setting previously, I understand the importance of a community, giving people purpose and creating exercise plans that fit with individuals’ unique ability levels,” said Chris Fernando, manager, Double Time Fitness. “I wanted to build something that people felt connected to and could serve the people living and working in downtown Fresno. The new Double Time Fitness is a resource for people looking to squeeze in a quick jog during their lunch break, to those living downtown in search of life changing fitness results.” Double Time is the only 24/7 gym open in downtown Fresno with three trainers on staff. The redesigned gym opened in December 2017 and already has over 200 members. As they continue to grow, they set their sights on the future and possibly moving onto a bigger space within the downtown Fresno Bitwise buildings. “Double Time Fitness has grown immensely in the last few months through aggressive social media campaigns and our efforts to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere,” said Fernando. “Being in the Bitwise South Stadium building has given us access to a diverse group of individuals who live, eat, and work downtown. We’ve followed their lead when it comes to connecting to the people of downtown Fresno and it has really paid off. FitWise Fresno is a great example of that.” Even as the gym considers a larger space, it continues to focus its efforts on nurturing the community within its current home at 700 Van Ness. Double Time is the longest tenant to maintain a gym with the Bitwise Buildings and it’s easy to see why, they’ve managed to inspire, grow, and propel lives into fitness in the Central Valley.
